The Occupational and Safety Health Consultation Office provides workplace consultation to reduce and/or prevent injuries and assist employers in complying with Federal OSHA regulations. The Occupational and Safety Health consultants will help recognize workplace hazards, suggest approaches for solving a safety or health problem, identify available assistance, provide a written report summarizing the findings, and provide training and education for employees. Once program criteria are met, the Occupational and Safety Health consultant may recommend a one-year exclusion from programmed inspections. This safety and health consultation program is separate from the Federal OSHA inspection effort. The Occupational and Safety Health consultant will not issue citations or propose penalties for violations or report violations to an enforcement officer. The Occupational and Safety Health consultant will not guarantee that the workplace will pass a Federal OSHA inspection.

Please note: Claims of HIPAA violations or cases of medical-related discrimination should be referred to the U.S. Department of Labor.
