The Division of Family Services investigates reports of child abuse, neglect and dependency.If an investigation determines that protective services are needed, the Division provides home-based assistance such as counseling, family preservation services, parent aides, transportation and shelter care.When in-home services are not sufficient to ensure child safety, the Division provides placement in a stable alternative setting. The division also provides adoptive services.
