Tank Management Section, Division of Waste & Hazardous Substances

The Tank Management Section (TMS) administers and assists with the installation, management of abandonment, removal and cleanup of underground storage tank systems in order to prevent contamination of soils and groundwater supplies. The staff also permits the installation and operation of vapor recovery equipment. Responsible for the development and implementation of the regulation of Aboveground Storage Tanks (AST) and the investigation and remediation of leaks and releases from ASTs. The Boiler Safety Group became part of this Section in 2003.
