Bellevue State Park is the former estate of William DuPont, Jr. which now encompasses 328 acres of beautiful settings, historic charm and recreational opportunities.  Unpaved wooded trails traverse the grounds, as well as the paved Northern Delaware Greenway; great for jogging, biking, or roller blading.A 1 1/8 mile fitness track complete with an interactive life course circles a catch-and-release fishing pond and disc golf course.  Garden plots can be rented in season for private use, complete with a compost demonstration site on the premises.  Picnic pavilions with nearby horseshoe pits, volleyball courts and playgrounds can be rented for private parties, and open picnic areas are available for all park visitors.  The Hunter Barn provides indoor picnic facilities upon reservation.  Bellevue Hall is an elegant setting for group functions such as meetings and receptions.  Mansion tours are offered periodically.The tennis facilities are available April-October, with eight outdoor clay courts.  A tennis professional is available for lessons and a pro shop stocks your favorite equipment.  Wellspring Farm equestrian center offers private riding lessons as well as summer camp opportunities, with horse trails located throughout the park.Educational and recreational park programs are offered year-round for visitors of all ages.  Schedules are available at the park or online at www.destateparks.com.Themed day camps and a Summer Concert Series entertain park visitors every Thursday and Sunday evening during the summer months.Opportunities to enjoy the park do not end when the weather turns cold, they simply move inside for the park’s many fall and winter seasonal events.Hayrides (by reservation) are fun in the fall.  Outdoor ice skating is also allowed, conditions permitting.  Bellevue is a park for all seasons.  Three pavilions and an indoor/outdoor picnic facility can be rented for larger gatherings.
