The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) requires states to have a Child Find system in place with processes and procedures for identifying, locating, and evaluating all children birth to age 21 in need of special education and related services, including children suspected of having a disability. All Delaware school districts have a Child Find team available to assist with screening, evaluating, and providing recommendations for children 3 to 5 years of age. Please contact the school district below in which the child resides for information and referrals:Appoquinimink 302-376-4404 childfind@appo.k12.de.usBrandywine 302-479-2600 childfind@bsd.k12.de.usCaesar Rodney 302-697-2173 childfind@cr.k12.de.usCape Henlopen 302-645-6686 childfind@cape.k12.de.usCapital 302-857-4241 childfind@capital.k12.de.usChristina – Newark 302-454-2047 childfind@christina.k12.de.us – Wilmington 302-429-4175Colonial 302-429-4088 childfind@colonial.k12.de.usDelmar 302-846-9544 childfind@delmar.k12.de.usIndian River 302-436-1070 x1163 childfind@irsd.k12.de.us Alternate number 302-732-1346Lake Forest 302-284-9611 x123 childfind@lf.k12.de.usLaurel 302-875-6105 childfind@laurel.k12.de.usMilford 302-422-1650 x217 childfind@msd.k12.de.us Alternate number 302-424-5474Red Clay 302-992-5574 childfind@redclay.k12.de.usSeaford 302-629-4587 x1635 childfind@seaford.k12.de.usSmyrna 302-659-6287 childfind@smyrna.k12.de.usWoodbridge 302-337-7990 childfind@wsd.k12.de.us Alternate number 302-337-7998
