The Delaware Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs oversees the operations of the state’s historic preservation office, five state museums and associated landscapes (New Castle Court House Museum, John Dickinson Plantation, Old State House Museum, Johnson Victoria Museum, and Zwaanendael Museum), the First State Heritage Park Welcome Center and Galleries, the Buena Vista Conference Center, museum and archeological collections, and more than 30 historic properties and monuments.Our mission is to serve Delaware residents and visitors by identifying, preserving, and interpreting Delaware history. Our activities foster strong communities, engaged citizens, economic vitality, and a deeper understanding of Delaware’s role in world history.  Our public services include administering the National Register of Historic Places program and the State Historic Preservation Tax Credit program.
