Also known as “Delaware State Parks,” this state government agency operates and maintains all 16 of Delaware’s state parks and related nature preserves as well as greenway and trail systems. The total acreage grows each year; currently it is over 25,000 acres statewide. This fee is charged because Delaware State Parks gets only 25% of its approximately $15 million operating budget from tax dollars. The rest of the budget must be raised through fees. The fee allows your vehicle and its passengers to enter any state park on the date of the purchase, except Fort Delaware and Wilmington State Parks. Daily fee: Inland Parks – $4 for a Delaware registered vehicle and $8 for an out of state vehicle; Ocean Parks – $5 for a Delaware registered vehicle and $10.00 for an out of state vehicle. Annual passes allow entrance into all state parks that charge entrance fees all year. Annual Permits: $35 for a Delaware registered vehicle; $70 for an out of state registered vehicle; $18 for a Senior Delaware resident, $35 for a Senior out of state registered vehicle.
