CARE Delaware: Caregiver Assistance-Respite-Education is a program offered by the Delaware Health and Social Services’ Division of Services for Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities (DSAAPD). “Caregivers” are family members, friends, adults who help take care of older persons, or older relatives such as grandparents caring for children. One of the services offered within this program is the Respite Care Service which gives families and other caregivers temporary relief from providing on-going care for frail older persons, 60 years of age and older. Based on an individualized care plan, participating service providers offer caregivers assistance with personal care, household duties and companion service in the home. For a list of CARE Delaware respite care providers, visit the Division of Services for Aging and Adults with Disabilities website.
