Kay’s Kamp is a week-long medically supervised overnight camp for children ages 5-17, who have been diagnosed, with cancer, currently in treatment or in remission to experience some normal in their not-so-normal lives. Held on the grounds of the University of Delaware, Kay’s Kamp is like any other summer camp except it’s medically supervised by a team of doctors and nurses on site 24/7 including Pediatricians, RN’s, PA’s, NP’s and oncology pharmacists. Emergency phone consultation is provided by Pediatric Oncologists from A.I. duPont Hospital for Children. We have an all-volunteer staff who are 20 years and older and CPR certified. Kamp offers a FireFly program for Palliative Care kampers who are assigned a one-on-one RN who agrees to accompanies that kamper throughout the week. Our LIT (leader in training) program offers 17 & 18 year olds who are currently in treatment or in remission an opportunity to be trained as future leaders. Kay’s Kamp is a program of Kay’s Foundation, a 501 (C) 3 nonprofit organization.
