The New Castle County Government administers all government operations for the county, maintains sewers and streams, provides school crossing guards, police, paramedic services, housing programs, senior services a land use department, two public golf courses, 12 libraries, the Brandywine zoo, 5,500 acres of parkland, including Rockwood Park and Carousel Park.
