Reading ASSIST Institute (RAI) trains volunteer tutors, parents and teachers in a multisensory structured language instruction methodology. Upon completion of training, volunteers are assigned to area schools where they tutor children one-on-one and in small groups. RAI also refers experienced, certified tutors on a fee basis to parents who seek a private tutoring situation for their children. RAI’s Professional Development Program trains area teachers in its 36-hour Basic Training course as well as in 3-6 hour instruction modules.
