The Ruth N. Dorcey Relief Shelter offers shelter to homeless families and single men and women experiencing homelessness in Kent County Delaware. Average stay around 45 days. During that time residents are encouraged to obtain employment, save money and secure permanent housing. The shelter serves three meals a day to our live-in residents. The shelter is open 365 days a year around the clock.The location also offers 10 transitional housing units for families (with certain eligibility criteria) seeking low income temporary housing solutions to address reasons for initial homelessness.Services provided include:In-House Residents — – Emergency Shelter – Three meals a day – Information and Referral – Case Management – Workshops Community Residents — – Information and referral/ Case Management Please call for more information.
